What Is Glaucoma?
Glaucoma is the term for a group of conditions that damage your eye’s optic nerve due to abnormally high intraocular pressure (IOP). For individuals with glaucoma, IOP builds up and can press on the optic nerve, which is the part of your vision system that’s responsible for transmitting what your eyes see to the brain. Unfortunately, damage to your optic nerve from high IOP is irreversible, making glaucoma the leading cause of blindness for people over the age of 60.

Our co-founder and glaucoma doctor, Dr. Bradley Barnett, has years of experience in treating a range of eye issues, including diagnosing and treating glaucoma. We can also treat and manage your glaucoma via laser surgery, which can help reduce your IOP. Certain patients are excellent candidates for selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT), a laser treatment that reduces pressure in your eye and has a proven track record of effectiveness.
